We are a school that cares holistically for your child and offers a variety of opportunities for all students to excel. We place a strong emphasis on academic achievement but recognise that success looks different for different students.
We care for all students and always do our best to ensure that your child's education is happy and rewarding. At McClelland, we believe academic culture and identity are formed by default or design. Either you design the future you want, or you get whatever happens by default. At McClelland College, we create the framework for our students to design their own future and experience success. -
Yes. As we are not yet at capacity, we can still enrol students who sit outside our zone. Students living within our zone are guaranteed entry into their local school; however, 'out of zone' applications will be considered based on year level, program and capacity. To check if you are in our zone, visit the official government website Find My School.

McClelland has discarded the factory approach to teaching, which fails the needs of today's students. The outdated assembly-line method of teaching and learning had students move through their years of education in set modes and set batches, assuming that young people learn the same things, in the same ways, and at the same rate.
Our Education by Design philosophy allows us to mould the curriculum around each individual student. We design unique pathways to cater for our student's individual strengths and then combine these strengths with the students' passions, learning data and career aspirations to create intrinsically motivated students. This process is undertaken with the support and guidance of our parent/carer community and involves a creative way of mapping out each student's curriculum journey. Our Education by Design process has yielded outstanding results across the college and continues to be refined each and every year. -
McClelland College has two elite programs for our Year 7 students to choose from and for which to apply: Accelerate @ McClelland (ACC) and the Elite Performance Program (EPP).
Accelerate @ McClelland is a select entry accelerated class. Application for this program requires students to sit a specialised test and submit key learning data sets.
The EPP recognises and allows students to be elite performers in any subject and excel in their chosen field/s. Entry to this program requires a written application process and interviews with our Year 7 team.
Through these extension programs, we have been able to identify students' strengths and extend them to a level where they can complete VCE subjects as early as Year 8! -
Our McClelland Academy Program is designed for students to gain valuable hands-on experience and employability skills in their chosen area of passion. Along with exploring their passions, the MAP provides the opportunity to engage with industry leaders to explore career pathways and other industry experiences. Delve deeper into our MAP by checking out the link in our video section of our site.

We are incredibly proud of the VCE results our senior students achieve each year. With the support of their dedicated teachers, McClelland College students consistently achieve median study score results in the top echelon of public schools in all of the Mornington Peninsula.
Along with this, schools every year individually receive growth data on how students have performed in comparison to how they were predicted to perform. In living up to our value of 'growth', in the past three years, a high proportion of McClelland College students have outperformed their predicted results and have shown their ability to achieve outstanding individual results.
Our Class of 2023 had a School Median Study Score of 29 (three years running now!). Our Median Study Score for English was at an all-time high of 32! Further to this, we had an incredible 47% of students achieving an ATAR above 70!

At McClelland, we are proud to boast a very active music department. Our students often start as complete beginners with no prior musical experience. With our team of expert music staff, we soon turn noise into sound. We are lucky enough to be able to offer a whole gamut of instruments, including woodwind, brass, string, percussion and voice. We work closely with the drama department and have a very strong Performing Arts Department. Our spotlight is always on teamwork, perseverance and of course, engagement!
