Year 7 Transitions

At McClelland College, we recognise that transitioning from primary school into high school can be challenging for students and their parents and family.

Our Year 7 transitions program is designed to assist this journey and help our students adjust and thrive in their new learning environment.

Students entering the college in Year 7 will spend significant time acquiring the skills to establish and build sound working relationships. They will be given the opportunity to understand the college expectations as learners and practice the routines that will support them in meeting these expectations. The first term at McClelland College is designed to set students up for success in their educational endeavours and begin to forge strong and productive connections with peers and staff.

The Year 7 learning centre is staffed by the Year 7 Leadership Team, who have shared responsibility for the students' academic and social and emotional needs.
